Friendship is love 𑁍ࠬܓ

One day , i sat on the edge of a roof and looked at the resplendent stars , while a cascade of silent soliloquies played within me over and over again.

One thing that stood out to me was how constellations are always there , even when obscured or concealed by clouds, their presence always lingers , and that in a hysterical way reminded me of my friends.

I realized the very astounding essence of the saying “ love is in the air”.

Love was the letters that my friends wrote to me on my birthday, the books that my sister talked about , the cake that my mom baked with the most efficient sweep of patience , the playlists people made for me and the sentimental trips my friends and i took.

Isn’t friendship a miracle in itself?

In billions , you find people who are a speck of you , who somehow make this demised world seem a little less lonely.

Why isn’t friendship considered as satisfactory and exemplary as love? Not forced by a codification yet choosing to stay together side by side for years to come, not entrapped by physical attraction , intimacy , money or marriage.

Friendship is spectating one’s slow bleed of heartache and a dragging haze of monotony , sitting in silence while still feeling at home , privileged to witness the poetry of their pain, knowing your own verses will be read with the same reverence.

Romantic love is an extravaganza and a beautiful one at that , but whats to say friendship is any less. It is a dilemma of acceptance of peculiarities and deranged conclusions. You are not supposed to look for love because you are already surrounded by copious amounts of it.

This kind of love holds you when you cry , celebrates your triumphs and makes your dark and dismal episodes seem a little less depressive , this kind of love makes you drown in laughter.

For me , friendship is love.
